Praying for London

Our Current Priorities

Prayer Spaces

Our aim is to see permanent prayer rooms and houses of prayer in London. Many churches in London are now making their prayer spaces available, but we are also working with organisations to support them as they set up prayer spaces.

London's Estates

London has many estates scattered across the city which are rich vibrant communities. These estates have become a focus for mission as people live out their faith in some of London's toughest areas and we regularly support this work through prayer walking and raising prayer for London's estates (see video).

#aPrayerforLondon

In 2016 we are tweeting short prayers every day that over the year will cover the essential aspects of London life. Pray with us for London, follow us on Twitter (@LDN_Prayer_Room) or add our feed to the PrayerMate app.

London's East End

London's East End has historically been London's poorest and most deprived area. However, in recent years it has seen huge changes with redevelopment and new communities emerging. We have felt for some time that this region of London is strategically important and is a prayer focus for us.

As someone who regularly walks and prays across London, the increase in number of homeless is one of the most noticeable changes I've seen.

London Poverty@PovertyLondon

In 2016/17, 8,100 people were recorded sleeping rough in London, almost 3x the number in 2006. #homelessness #LPP17 https://t.co/RlnV4gxEBS

Left #MDUK17 slightly early, to see the rush of police responding to incident at #NaturalHistoryMuseum this is where theory meets practice

Preserve life and let the peace of God rule in the city. https://t.co/jxs28dbkSZ

God has a plan for each piece of land in every generation. There is no such thing as wasteground. #MDUK17 #citytransformation

Mind the Gap

Mind the Gap! – It’s such a London phrase and we deftly jump on and off tubes without noticing the gaps that tourists stop and then hesitantly cross. However, other gaps created by the division between the generations, the rich and poor, North and South London, or two neighbours are more noticeable and as Christians […]

Relationships

Father, we start the year by asking that those living in London would love you more and wholeheartedly. Stir love in me for You today. When I am busy draw me; when I wander redirect me; when I am indifferent stir hunger. Remove the hindrances that prevent us from developing our relationship with you. Keep us from […]
